ASSIGNMENT 11 - ADVERTISEMENT POSTER
This assignment was like a sum up of the last 3 or 4 assignments. Here i learned to use three different styles to name three different sections and create an advertisement. I labeled the title, the when, where, why. Finally i added three nice pictures that would catch the attention of any bypassing kids. I didn't learn to use any new programs I just put together all the previous skills that I had already acquired.
Assignment 12 - Texture Dress
The first thing that I did was separate the jacket from the figure and make a new layer out of it. I used the Magnetic lasso tool. I made the perfect selections and i was able to obtain the perfect shape of the dress. Next i merged both textures and once i covered the entire dress i clipped the extra parts that i didn't need to show. Finally I lowered the texture layer opacity down to about 18 or 19 around there and I got the affect of a galaxy look on the once plain dress.
Assignment 13 - Healthy advertisement
In this assignment I selected the U.S Flag Layer and change the blending mode to Hard Light. Then I selected the Brick Layer and hit CTRL+J to duplicate the layer. Then I moved the layer above the Flag layer and hit CTRL+SHIFT+U to desaturate it. With the copied layer still selected I went to Filter-Blur Gaussian Blur. Then In the blur dialog box I entered the amount of blur I needed and then I deleted the extra brick wall part of the picture that wasn't necessary. Once I did that I lowered the opacity and I had a flag on top of a brick wall.
Assignment 14B - Face Displacement
For assignment 14B all I did was repeat the steps and skills I learned in assignment 14A. The biggest difference was that The flag had to now be placed on top of my face. This assignment required more cropping and clipping in order to get the perfect flag appearance on my face. But overall I used the same things that I had already learned.
Assignment 15 - Smart Filters
In this assignment I learned how to use the motion blur. First I chose the picture of a jaguar walking on a rock. Then I used motion blur to get the perfect affect and I used the brush tool to unblur the picture of jaguar, so it ended up looking like the jaguar was running on the rock.
Assignment 16 - Masked Photo Filter
In this assignment I chose a picture of Julia Roberts and I was able to make her teeth look whiter. I used the Quick Mask tool to choose only the area of her mouth. Then I used a tool to select the lick the Switch Foreground and Background Colors icon again to make black the foreground color. Continue painting the area to select until the whole area is covered in red. Click here to turn off the Quick Mask mode. Dashed lines indicate the area that was masked by the red color. Click Select. I clicked Inverse. The selection now includes only the area you painted in the Quick Mask mode.
Assignment 17 - Soft Glow
In this assignment I chose a picture of Mila Kunis and I added a soft glow focus affect to her portrait. This affect made her look younger and made her skin look much more rejuvenated. Similar to assignments 15 & 16, what I did was fairly simple. First I used the Gaussian Blur filter and blurred the entire image. The picture became very light so I added a layer mask and I used the brush tool to select her eyes, lips and make up area so that I would be able to remove the blur filter from that area. Then I used the airbrush thumbnail tool and set the opacity on the image to 40% The soft focus allows the image to still look sharp but lets the blurred parts look natural.
Assignment 18 - USB Flashdrive
This assignment introduced me to the program called Adobe Illustrator. We got 3 days to complete this assignment. So the first day I completed steps 1-6.P I used the Rectangle Tool (M) and clicked anywhere on the page. In the dialog box I put the values 175 px for width and 300 px for height. I aligned the rectangle to the center of the page. And I worked with it until I had what looked like the usb with out the top part. I used the colors blue and purple. On the second day I completed steps 8-14. This day was very important because I was working on creating the smaller rectangles that would be places on top of the USB's rectangular part. I used gradient effects on all the rectangles so that they would appear to be the back part of the USB. On the final day I just worked on finalizing the project and labeling it "VERONICA Q. FLASHDRIVE 64 GB"
Assignment 19A - Last Name in Illustrator
In this assignment I also used illustrator and I started with the BASIC RGB artboard (canvas)
I drew out my last name "Quiroga" using both line and shape tool offers. I also used the line segment or the arc tool to create some of the letters. Finally when I was done I had spelled out my last name using shapes like triangles, squares and rectangles.
Assignment 19B - Preparation for Phone Project
This assignment basically prepared us for the phone test. I used the pathfinder minus and front tools and I also used the shape tool to make the out line for the top buttons on a phone.Assignment 20 - Phone Test
This assignment was definitely the most difficult. It took up about 5 days after we returned from spring break. It was a combination of what we had learned in assignment 18, 19A and 19B. I used Adobe Illustrator and on the first day I did Steps 1-6. The second day I did steps 7-15, the third day I did steps 16-23. The fourth day which was the most difficult I did steps 24-28. These steps were the most detailed and took the most time. I ad to create on the little buttons that go on the phone. I had to group the steps and apply new buttons for all 12 buttons. On the last day I did all the way to step 32 and I had to write on the abc's and numbers on the buttons individually. I also created the top part with the circles where you hear from. After I was done I felt very accomplished. It was a difficult but totally worth it assignment.
